Calm as he was, pain seeped through him whenever he moved any muscle linked to his shoulder where the arrow stuck. Meanwhile Miriel grumbled of him seeing her in such a state whilst he had an arrow sticking out of his back. All he could do was sigh and let out a low chuckle which in the end caused him more pain.

"In such a state? what, because your bruised and cut up from some group of...who knows what they are out there?! Apparently you've forgotten what I am, I've seen things most couldn't imagine, been in states that make what yours is right now seem like a walk in the park."
Taking in a long deep breath he started over again. "What I mean is I've experienced worse, I'm...accustomed to seeing people like this regularly. Only with you I worry more..." He trailed off before glancing back out the window to check for the men. "Shall I leave you be? Let you tend to your business with these...hasty folk?" He questioned standing up in an ugly manner. He turned slowly to face the street as he stood talk and dark in the window, a shadow consuming all in view. He sighed as he put his arms on each side of the window ledge leaning forward, looking down at his feet. "You demand what I'm doing here...well I will offer you what you seek." He paused for a moment now pulling himself upright as he glanced over his shoulder looking back at Miriel, his face consumed by the shadow of his hood. "I'm doing my job." He answered her before walking off, heading up the stairs to the second level of the house.

Sitting down in silence Eridor watched out the window of the second floor as he thought about what had happened downstairs moments earlier. He found it hard to believe that she would be upset that he had found her in such a state. Ideas formed in his head as he thought about what could give her reason to hide something from him. He hadn't know her real long, she had many secrets from him and he knew it. It was no different for him either though, he knew that she knew little of him but it did not change how they felt about one another. Sighing he shrugged off any thought of the recent events and slowly reached his left arm over his right shoulder to take hold of the arrow. With one quick tug he ripped the arrow from the flesh of his back, tossing it on the floor. "Arrgggghh!" He snarled as blood now oozed down his back. He wrapped the wound with some bandages to slow the bleeding for the time being until he could get it properly looked at. He didn't plan to just leave Miriel alone when she had so many people chasing after her.

*It seems as though she doesn't want me here anyways* He thought to himself as he leaned back in the chair he sat in. *What do I do? I cannot abandon one I love so dearly...even if she were a stranger I could do no such thing...but by staying maybe I am hurting her...or causing her grief...I don't know!* Sighing more heavily this time he closed his eyes and let his head fall back against the back of the chair, resting for the time being until he could figure out what to do.

Miriel twisted the bloody hem of her shirt thoughtfully between her fingers and gazed up at the stairs in which Eridor had ascended. This was going to take some time to fix. When she first opened her eyes, she was confused and when she saw Eridor step out from the shadows, she was surprised. Instead of thanking him for the rescuer he was, she snapped. It wasn’t that she didn’t want him here, she did, but considering whenever they crossed paths she was always in trouble, she had hoped that the next time they would meet; it would be under more normal circumstances.

With a loud groan, she lifted herself into a sitting position and swung her legs over the side of the bed. “Alright...you can do this” She whispered as she awkwardly pushed herself up off the bed with her hands gripping the bed head for balance and support. Once she was comfortable enough to move, she let go of the bed head and took a very weak step towards the stairs. By the rate she was moving, it was going to take longer then she thought to reach him but being stubborn, she wasn’t going to let him think she didn’t care. Even if it took forever she was going to apologize to him.

Beads of sweat formed on her forehead and trickled down her face as she finally reached the railing and gripped it with both of her hands. Her heartbeat was fluttering in her chest in an irregular manner, causing her to gasp and heave with each step she took. Minutes passed but it seemed hours to her and her vision began to waver before her but she managed to make it halfway up the stairs. Her hands were slipping on the railing but she continued anyway, there was no point stopping when she nearly there. “One..more..step” She groaned, forcing herself to take that one more step despite her whole body screaming at her to give up.

When she was finally on the second level, she slowly walked towards the room he had disappeared into and once there, she weakly pushed open the door and leaned against the frame for support. Sitting in front of her with a blood soaked arrow tossed beside him, he looked troubled and tired. Her heart swelled with pride at how strong he was. Anyone weaker would have left her and never came back but here he was, waiting though he didn’t know it at the moment. With her hands against the frame, she pushed herself away from it and stumbled towards him. “Eridor...” She said as she sat at his feet and rested her head against his knee. “...Forgive me. I only meant that i didn’t want you to see me in trouble again; I wanted you to see me in a more normal way this time.” She sniffed in a most unladylike manner and rubbed her cheek against the rough cloth of his leggings. “...I am pleased that you are here...I really wouldn’t want it to be anyone else.” With tear strained cheeks, she tilted her face up towards him and hoped he didn’t hate her for her previous behaviour. “I know you have questions and I shall answer them as best as i can so please, don’t be mad at me anymore”

The blood seeped through the bandages dripping off his shoulder and onto the floor creating a warm dark pool of blood. His breathing was slow and calm to keep himself from losing anymore blood than he could. As the time passed it felt as though it had been a day in the house but it had only been some fifteen minutes that the two had been separated. It felt like ages as Eridor listened to each drop of blood splash against the cold wooden floor whilst Miriel climbed the stairs. He could hear her getting closer but made no effort to turn and look.

Moments later once the elf had reached the top of the stairs, she scrambled over to Eridor with great effort from the sounds that he could hear in the background. It wasn't long silence before he could hear her soft and soothing voice sound in the dark room. What comfort it gave him to hear her voice was too much to explain to someone. The connection he felt to her was so powerful, so heartwarming he nearly forgot he had the wound in his shoulder.

Her words were kind and submissive as she spoke to him near his feet, exhausted from the days events that prayed upon her. Hearing the sadness in her tone Eridor was struck with a wave of guilt and disappointment. He was a ranger of the dunedain and he had acted like a child. "Miriel..." He whispered her name sighing heavily as he turned to her, leaning down so that he was inches from her face. "You need not be forgiven, it was my fault...I should not have reacted in the manor I did, even with how you greeted me. You were under a lot of pressure from what has happened...as for seeing you in the mess your in, I do not care. Your beauty can not be tarnished by a few cuts and bruises." He added as he smiled slightly at her before sitting back in his chair. "Yeah I have questions for you...but I think I best get this wound fixed up properly else I may lose to much blood." He finally added checking the wound once more.

Slowly Eridor took off his cloak and the rest of his armor so that his chest was bare. He knew that the healers would be able to stitch him up in minutes and have him ready to go, but he couldn't reach the houses at this time so he and Miriel would have to do it. With her help it would be possible, but messy. Getting the tools that would be necessary to do the job, Eridor first knelt down on the floor so he was level with the elf. Leaning in towards her he wrapped his arms around her and squeezed, giving her a warm hug and a kiss on the cheek. "I thought I might have lost you for good back there...I would have brought a squad of soldiers down had I known what was happening." He whispered in her ear.
